The Arts and Science Council of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County will host an Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute on six Fridays in March, April and May. Sessions will last from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Arts and Science Council board room at 277 W. Trade St., suite 250, in Charlotte.
The six-session class is an artist-focused course designed to give artists the tools they need to hone business skills needed to make a business out of your craft. The classes will cover all aspects of developing your artistic business, from marketing to bookkeeping and accounting.
The Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute offers critical support for artists, enabling them to contribute to strengthening the vitality of the larger urban arts and culture sector. Sessions will include a mix of lecturers, panels, group discussions and practical exercises and will take place March 16 and 23, April 13 and 20 and May 4 and 11.
Cost is $150.
