Car show to benefit juvenile diabetes research
Presbyterian Hospital Matthews will host the Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The event will be held in the hospital parking lot near the pond at 1500 Matthews Township Pkwy. Motorcycles, hot rods, muscle cars, domestics, imports and works in progress can be entered in the show for a fee of $15. The public can attend the show for free. The event will feature awards, raffles and drawings.
Show entry is available the day of the event.

Easter Bunny stops in Matthews March 31
The Town of Matthews will host its annual Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stumptown Park, 120 S. Trade St., Matthews.
The event will include refreshments, music, carnival games, prizes, Easter egg hunts and visits with the Easter Bunny. Tickets will be sold at the event and are $5 for ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for children ages 2 and younger.

Mint Hill Arts announces next show
Nonprofit Mint Hill Arts will host a free opening reception for its latest exhibit Friday, April 13 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The non-themed, members-only show will feature work from a variety of mediums. The exhibit and opening reception are open to the public.

Spring Farmers’ Market opens April 7
The Matthews Community Farmers’ Market will begin its 21st year when it regular season market opens on Saturday, April 7 from 7:15 a.m. to noon.
Opening day activities at the market, 188 N. Trade St., will feature a cooking demonstration by Marc Jacksina, executive chef of Halcyon: Flavors From The Earth, live music and a cookbook swap.
The market runs every Saturday through November from 7:15 a.m. to noon.
