MATTHEWS – Downtown Matthews was a sea of green – and some black and gold from a few University of Maryland-Baltimore County basketball fans in town for the NCAA Tournament – as a host of downtown businesses sponsored the Matthews Shamrock Crawl on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.
Revelers enjoyed food and drink specials as well as live music at several of the sponsoring businesses. Most, if not all, of the participating sponsors were jam-packed by late afternoon and the fun lasted into the evening.
One of the biggest hits was the free Matthews Shamrock Crawl T-shirt giveaway. The T-shirts were distributed at several downtown locations throughout the day.
One popular stop was Seaboard Brewery Taproom & Wine Bar as it served up its own brewed Iron Master Irish-inspired stout and the Seaboard Brewing Tidewater Irish-inspired red ale.
The Red Brick Partnership sponsored the event.
