Autobell Car Wash recently awarded 121 employees 2012 academic scholarships toward the college or university of their choice, with this year’s gifts totaling $95,500.
Since its inception, the Autobell Scholarship program has provided more than $500,000 in academic awards to employees, according to a news release.
This year’s local recipients, all of Matthews, are:
Katie Browder, who will attend the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
Rachel Hudson, who will attend the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
Alec Viscount, who will attend the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
Brent Werts, who will attend the University of South Carolina.
The Autobell Scholarship is an annual program open to current Autobell employees who are graduating high school seniors or have received a high school diploma. Along with a completed application, candidates must submit references, an acceptance letter from an accredited college or university, and an essay that discusses an educational aspect of their employment experience.
