The Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center needs help if it’s to win the LiveSTRONG Community Impact Project.
The local center was picked as a candidate for the national competition. Groups with the top votes in their region will get financial awards to help in the effort of supporting families fighting cancer. Nearly $1.4 million in awards will go to 90 finalists this year.
The Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center is in the running for The Creative Center: Hospital Artist-in-Residence Program, which is designed to help cancer survivors deal with the stress of treatment through artistic expression. The program will work at bedsides and in small group settings.
People can vote online until 5 p.m. March 23. Visit http://vote.livestrong.org to vote.
