Citizens can reach out to women experiencing unplanned pregnancies by attending the Lois’ Lodge Annual Walk-a-Thon. The event takes place Saturday, April 21, at Freedom Park, located at 1409 East Blvd. in Charlotte. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.
Sponsored walkers are a major need for the event. Prizes, including a 32-inch LCD television, a Kindle Fire and an Olympus digital camera, will be awarded to those who raise the most money. Participants can walk and raise sponsorships, donate to walk or recruit a team to walk.
Participants are also invited to bring their children and grandchildren with their small bikes, as a supervised bike ride will also take place. Food, soft drinks and water will be available.
Lois’ Lodge is a nonprofit organization that serves women and families experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. The organization offers services, such as a maternity home, a Mom Shoppe and support for families involved. All funds raised will go to support Lois’ Lodge.
