Area residents can have their say about proposed fare increases for the buses and light rail of the Charlotte Area Transit System during a public hearing March 28.
The Metropolitan Transit Commission will host the hearing and residents should sign-up in advance to speak. The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center, Room 267, 600 E. Fourth Street, Charlotte.
The proposed fare increases, which would begin July 1, include raising the cost of local bus and LYNX light rail travel from $1.75 to $2 and Express bus service within Mecklenburg County from $2.40 to $2.75.
