The Matthews Library will be closed Monday, June 4, for computer and telephone work system wide.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will begin moving its servers Saturday, June 2, from the Main Library to Mecklenburg County’s Peak 10 Data Center, forcing the closure of all library branches on Monday and the interruption of remote services. Many customer services, such as telephone renewal, the online library catalog and access to customer accounts will be unavailable for periods of time during the three-day switch, according to a news release. No overdue fines will be charged during the upgrade and outdoor book drops will remain open, the release said.
The library system expects to return to normal service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5. The Mint Hill Library is not open on Mondays.
The project will prevent the loss of services system wide if there’s a power outage at the Main Library, the release said.
