The nonprofit Levine Senior Center, 1050 DeVore Lane, in Matthews, will host a free seminar Aug. 8 to teach area residents how to avoid becoming a fraud victim.
John Maron, director of the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Investor Education Program, will lead the seminar from 3 to 4 p.m.
Participants will learn how to avoid losing retirement funds or other savings to scam artists by recognizing investment red flags, types of scams prevalent today and more.
Free publications also will be available at the seminar.
