Presbyterian Hospital Matthews will launch its Black & Blue Clinic for unexpected high school sports injuries Friday, Aug. 17.
Presbyterian Sports Medicine staff will offer after-hours care to all high school athletes, from football players to cheerleaders, every Friday night this fall through Nov. 2 at the Matthews hospital’s urgent care center, according to a news release. Care will be provided on a walk-in basis, and athletes must check in between 10 and 11:30 p.m. The clinic will be staffed by Dr.
Eric Warren, a board-certified primary care sports medicine doctor, and certified athletic trainer. X-ray services will be available on-site. Services at the Black & Blue Clinic will be charged at the rate of an urgent care visit and most insurance plans will be accepted, according to the release.
