The nonprofit Companion Parrots Re-homed needs help from area residents after receiving seven parrots seized by the Humane Society of Charlotte from a home and puppy mill in eastern North Carolina.
The nonprofit, part of Pineville’s Parrot University, is the only rescue group in the region to care for exotic birds. The seven birds rescued are: two blue and gold macaws; two umbrella cockatoos; one orange-winged Amazon; one Jenday conure; and one cockatiel. The nonprofit needs help to find quarantine and adoptive homes for the birds as well as financial donations to help with the care of the birds.
