Windstream could bring new service to Matthews in 2016
MATTHEWS – Leading advanced network communications company Windstream recently launched an “ultra-fast” 1-gigabit-per-second (Gbps) Internet service trial in Lexington, Kentucky.
Matthews residents and businesses are to be among the first individuals nationwide to experience the new services being offered in the trial, according to a news release. In addition to Lexington, Windstream plans to launch 1-Gbps service for residential and small business locations in Matthews and Concord, North Carolina; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Sugar Land, Texas. Service will take effect during the first half of 2016, the release said.
“We’re proud of what we have accomplished in 2015,” Tony Thomas, president and chief executive officer at Windstream, said in the release. “It has been a year of tremendous progress, and we’re delivering on our commitment to upgrade our network to provide faster Internet speeds.”
The 1-Gbps service trial is part of a broader plan Windstream has to continue improving Internet speeds and reliability across the board. Find more information on the company and its programs at www.windstream.com.
